Moral education
seeks to foster in
students a set of
universal values, which
will enable them to
peacefully interact and
connect with people from
different cultural and
social group who hold
different views and
perspectives. It seeks
to empower them to
become active,
responsible, local and
global citizens.
It enables them to
develop mutual
understanding, respect
for difference and
empathy in order to
sustain our cohesive and
prosperous society.

Why Moral Education? |
In July 2016, a new
Moral Education
initiative was launched
under the directive of
His Highness Sheikh
Mohamed bin Zayed Al
Nahyan, Crown prince of
Abu Dhabi and Deputy
Supreme Commander of the
UAE Armed Forces.
The Moral Education
program covers four
pillars –
Character and morality;
the individual and the
community; civic
studies; and cultural
studies and blends
academic content with an
exploration of character
and ethics. It has been
designed as a
progressive series of
units to be taught over
twelve years of
schooling from Grade 1
to Grade 12.
|
|
Build character
traits that
include
resilience,
perseverance,
work ethic,
critical
thinking and
discipline.
|
|
Teach students
the practical
and ethical
versions that
are represented
in the ethos of
the course,
which include
tolerance,
honesty,
dignity, respect
and humility.
|
|
Encourage and
enable students
to become
engaged members
of their
community.
|
|
Teach students
about culture
both of the UAE
and of the wider
world, and
enable them to
value the wealth
of culture
available across
the world.
